Wisconsin Charter Fishing Salmon and Trout

Wisconsin salmon fishing on Lake Michigan can really put you at peace when Mother Nature is cooperating as she was on this day. Lake Michigan salmon fishing during the summer is really consistent off the Milwaukee shoreline but you must be able to adapt too many conditions and be able to use many techniques. I am setting a two color leadcore in this picture and this is a very effective technique to catch salmon.

Leadcore is simply lead wrapped in braided line. The lead helps the line sink four feet for ever 10 yards let out. Leadcore is color coated and changes color every 10 yards, so a two color sinks 8 feet below the surface when used off a board. When used on a downrigger is where it is most effective because it sinks 8 feet below and 60 feet back from the downrigger ball. This becomes a very stealth setup and as the sun rises in the morning it can be the hot ticket in keep the action going.

Milwaukee charter fishing offers many great locations that hold salmon throughout the summer but the two color lead core can be used in all locations effectively. When we are out deep fishing 250 to 350 feet of water or in shallow water in 10 to 15 feet of water the two color on a board is the way to go. The line is attached to a board that pulls the line off to the side of the boat. Again this is a very stealthy presentation and is great for after sunrise, when fish become less active and shy of the boat.

We usually will run spoons off this set up but plugs are also used and occasionally even the flasher and fly combination. The two color is a great way to put salmon in the boat when on your Milwaukee fishing charter with Silver King Charters. It is just one way we keep the fish biting during your trip.
