Wisconsin Charter Fishing for Salmon and Trout

This picture was taken during mid July after an evening trip. Evening trips can somethimes be a little slow at first as this crew find out. We went three and a half hours with only two hook ups and both fish were lost at the back of the boat. The guys thought they were bad luck and were thinking they might not even catch a fish.

Evening trips can be good from start to finish but the best bite is right at sunset on these trips. This is why Silver King Charters does not start trips at 1:00PM but rather at 3:00PM or even 4:00PM. This puts you on the water when fish are the most active, which is around 6:30PM to sunset. Just as morning trips are hottest just before and during the sunrise it is true in the evening. Low light is the best time for consistent action.
