What You Need To Know About Fishing On Lake Michigan
ABOUT YOUR LAKE MICHIGAN CHARTER FISHING EXCURSION
Captain Kurt Pokrandt has three goals to meet for each trip.
- First is safety and this is the most important to the captain and crew.
- Second is that you have an enjoyable experience
- Third that you catch fish. Captain Kurt Pokrandt believes that you should get what you are paying for, so Silver King Charters offers a NO FISH- NO PAY policy.
All equipment is provided. A first mate works all charters aboard the Silver King and all fish are cleaned and bagged at the end of the trip. All first mates have over 10 yrs fishing and boating experience on Lake Michigan. No matter your skill level the captain and first mate will make you feel like a pro. Want to learn as much as you can before your Lake Michigan charter fishing trip? Check out our Fishing Encyclopedia of Terms for more information of the fish you can catch, the types of bait and fishing tackle you may use on your Lake Michigan fishing charter.

These can be purchased at the boat but Silver King Charters recommends that you purchase these on line to save time at the boat. Just click on the link above or call toll free 1-877-945-4236. The license you need is the 2 day Great Lakes Fishing license, which cost $14.
Note: Some people are prone to seasickness, so please contact your pharmacist about remedies such as Dramamine, pressure bracelets, or ear patches. It helps to get a good night sleep and eat breakfast.
Give Silver King Charters a call today at 414-460-1467 to book a spring trip from March through April or our regular season trips from May 1st through October 31st. The early part of the season we are charter fishing Racine and by mid June we are charter fishing Milwaukee.
Lake Michigan Fishing License: Wisconsin? Illinois? Either?
Whether you require a fishing license from Wisconsin or Illinois depends on which part of Lake Michigan you are fishing. If you extended the line between the two states out from Kenosha County and Lake County, you’d have the applicable boundary. Our Milwaukee and Racine based Lake Michigan Charters generally stay within the Wisconsin lakeward coastal zone boundaries. Please call us with any special requests.
**In addition to a 1 day Wisconsin Lake Michigan fishing license you will need a 2-Day Great Lakes Fishing (includes Great Lake Salmon/Trout Stamp)**
