Spring Brown Trout and Fall Chinook Salmon/Brown Trout Fishing Charters in Milwaukee
Silver King offers March and April Brown Trout fishing charters in and around the Milwaukee Wisconsin harbor. The Milwaukee harbor area has the best Brown Trout fishing on the Great Lakes during this time of year. Brown Trout range from 16 inches to 16 pounds and there have been several 30 plus pound Browns landed over the last few years. It will only be a matter of time before the Milwaukee harbor produces a 40 pound Brown Trout. Lake trout are also caught during these trips as they come near shore to feed on spawning smelt. The Lake trout range from 5 to 15 pounds, with some pushing over 20 pounds.
The Milwaukee harbor has enormous amounts of bait fish for Brown Trout to eat and Brown Trout live after spawning, so they live longer than salmon. This sets up a great fishery, with potential of catching trophy fish. The harbor has more reliable seas for Brown Trout charter fishing in Milwaukee during unpredictable spring weather.
Silver King Charters uses an 18’ Wellcraft boat named the “Fish Call” for Brown Trout charter fishing, powered by a reliable 125 hp Yamaha four stroke outboard. This Milwaukee brown trout charter fishing boat is extremely stable, built for big water fishing and superior to aluminum boats of similar size. The “Fish Call” has finished in the top ten 3 times in Milwaukee’s biggest one day fishing tournament and still holds the record big fish for this tournament, which was a 29.96 pound Chinook salmon.
This boat is fully rigged and ready to catch Brown Trout by trolling or jigging. When trolling Brown Trout are targeted with planner boards, dipsy divers and downriggers, using stick baits or spoons. If the bite is better with spawn or jigs then Captain Kurt will tie off along one of the harbor hot spots were you will be directly involved in catching fish. Either trolling or still fishing you will have an opportunity to have a more hands on experience fishing the harbor area. The weather may be chilly but the Milwaukee Brown Trout fishing is hot.
